Keith Wood, along with the excellent Sam Stein QC, has just concluded a complex fraud case in which former partners of a solicitors firm were indicted with a substantial mortgage fraud.

They prepared a carefully drafted basis of plea which, after much argument, was eventually accepted by the Court and significantly benefitted our client.

At the end of the case, the Judge passed a sentence of twelve months’ imprisonment which, in view of the value of the fraud, fell within the lowest range that could have been passed.

Keith’s diligent analysis of the material supporting our clients’ case, and the superb presentation of this information, together with the extensive mitigation, enabled the Judge to pass such a limited sentence and to decide against the making of a POCA order against our clients.
